All doesn’t seem to be well between Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Navjot Singh Sidhu and Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa. Sidhu, while addressing a press conference on Friday, took a veiled dig at Randhawa. Without naming him, the PCC president said the ministers who had opened a front against former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, following a bid to arrest former Director General of Police Sumedh Singh Saini, were silent on the issue.

“While hitting out at the government over the probe into sacrilege cases, Sidhu seems to be targeting Randhawa, who holds the Home and Police portfolios. Pressure is on Randhawa,”

said an MLA from Majha. Randhawa aims to take the centrestage of Jat politics in the Punjab Congress.

Similarly, Sidhu seems to be targeting Randhawa over the opening of the special task force’s drug trafficking report. “Party leaders feel the ministers do not want to give credit of taking action to Sidhu,” said the leaders.
