Nawanshahr murder: Two shooters of Lucky Patial-Davinder Bambiha gang apprehended in Mumbai
In a significant breakthrough, Counter Intelligence (CI) Jalandhar, in a joint operation with Nawanshahr police, has apprehended two shooters linked to the Lucky Patial-Davinder Bambiha gang from Mumbai. The arrests are in connection with a murder that occurred last month in Pojewal, Nawanshahr.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Karan Ganger (25) from Hoshiarpur and Jaskarandeep Singh alias Kallu (23) from Garhshankar. They are alleged to have shot dead Hardeep Singh alias Deepa Kulpuria in his village Kulpur on July 2.
According to Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav, the accused, in league with US-based Jaskaran Singh alias Kannu, committed the murder due to personal enmity. Both apprehended individuals and Kannu are reportedly associates of Lucky Patial of the Davinder Bambiha gang.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mehtab Singh stated that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to probe the case. Through human and technical intelligence, police teams zeroed in on the duo's location in Mumbai. AIG Counter Intelligence Jalandhar Navjot Singh Mahal added that joint teams, with assistance from local Mumbai Police, successfully took both suspects into custody.
A case has been registered at Pojewal police station under Sections 103, 191(3), and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. Further investigations are underway to establish backward and forward linkages in the case.
