Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has called upon intellectuals and political leadership in the community for making Sikh institutions more powerful. There was a need to strengthen the Sikh institutions, especially which had been weakened during the course of time in the recent past, he said.

The jathedar who was here to address a seminar on ‘Directions and possibilities of message of Sultanpur Lodhi’, organised by Bhai Gurdas Institute of Advance Studies, said it was the duty of intellectuals in the community to provide principled guidance to the political leadership, which of late had been dithering from principles. The political leadership must also remain in touch with intellectuals, he said.
