Sangrur: New dialysis unit inaugurated
Sangrur: Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema inaugurated the fifth dialysis unit at the Civil Hospital here today. He was accompanied by MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj, DC Jitendra Jorwal, Civil Surgeon Dr Kirpal Singh and Punjabi actor Karamjit Anmol. The new unit will help reducing the patients wait list, and the facility will be available in two shifts, from 8am to 2pm and from 2pm to 8pm, said Cheema. TNS

Three arrested for theft Muktsar: The Malout Sadar police today arrested Sanjeev Singh of Tarn Taran district for allegedly carrying an illegal pistol and two live cartridges from near Aulakh village on Wednesday. Later, the police arrested two of his accomplices Sikander Singh and Karanveer Singh of Malout village, and seized three stolen two-wheelers and a cellphone from them. The police asserted that some recent theft cases had been solved. TNS
Three held, aide absconding
Muktsar: The Malout City police today arrested three persons Deepak, Ashu Kumar and Abhishek of Malout, who had allegedly snatched a motorcycle, two cellphones and Rs 700 from Paramjit Singh of Thehri village and his friend Mohammad Mansoor of Bihar from near Jandwala Charhat Singh village on Thursday. The police asserted that some seizures were made from the arrested suspects and previous snatching cases had been solved. Meanwhile, Bhim Sain, an accomplice of the arrested suspect, was at large.
