Malerkotla Deputy Commissioner Pallavi today reviewed construction work of tehsil complex at Amargarh and Ahmedgarh.

The DC asked officials to expedite work and ensure construction was done according to specifications, keeping in view convenience of people with special needs, elderly and sick persons.

Pallavi cautioned Executive Engineer Parneet Kaur Tiwana against any compromise with quality of work and specifications according to the Rights of Disabled Persons Act, 2016, which necessitates construction of ramps and elevators for convenience of physically challenged persons.

Tiwana said both tehsil complexes had a covered area of 27,000 sq ft each.

She said the SDM’s office and court room, besides 11 other rooms were being constructed on the first floor whereas 12 rooms were being built on the second floor. Top floor would have a multi-purpose hall with around 25 cabins.

ADC Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu was asked to monitor the progress of work.
