A cable operator allegedly snapped the connection of an official when he failed to issue a curfew pass to him. The official lodged a police complaint alleging that the cable operator also threatened him of dire consequences.

Following this, the police booked the accused, identified as Harpreet Singh, under Section 353, 186, 188, 189 and 506 of the IPC.

The complainant Vinay Dhawan, a senior assistant at the DC office, said he was assigned the duty to issue curfew passes. He claimed that Harpreet Singh, alias Bobby Grewal, applied for a curfew pass on April 3 at his office and he advised him to get it sanctioned first from the Assistant Commissioner (General).

Dhawan said as he did not get the sanctioned application form from the authority concerned so he did not issue the curfew pass to him.

He further alleged that following this, Harpreet Singh argued with him in the office and threatened him of dire consequences. Later, he disconnected his cable connection even as he had been paying the charges regularly.
