Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal today refuted the allegations that the PM Modi-led government had been discriminating Punjab in welfare schemes.

During a brief stay in Abohar on his way to Sadulshehar, Meghwal said Punjabis and their heritage was etched in the heart of PM Modi.

He asserted that the Centre was always striving to provide maximum support to the people of Punjab. Due to agricultural base and special affinity for the people, the Centre had increased the minimum support price for several crops, he said.

The Union Minister said the Central Government was implementing highly effective welfare schemes aimed at uplifting all sections of society. All state governments should ensure implementation of welfare schemes in the right perspective, added Meghwal.
