No FIR by Punjab's AAP govt against Haryana Police proves party’s allegiance to BJP: Partap Singh Bajwa
Chandigarh, February 26
Expressing discontent over Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s “failure” to take legal action on the murder of Shubhkaran Singh, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday said that the Punjab Chief Minister’s deafening silence speaks volumes about his undisclosed allegiance to the BJP.
“It has been five days since young farmer Shubhkaran was murdered in cold blood by the Haryana Police at Khanauri border. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who also holds the home portfolio has not registered an FIR against Haryana Police and its Home Minister Anil Vij. This demonstrates AAP’s loyalty to its masters,” Bajwa added.
Bajwa added that the Punjab Chief Minister’s assurances to take action against the responsible officials seemed nothing more than a shallow promise. He has not even uttered a single word against the BJP-led Haryana Government on the issue. The Punjab Chief Minister must explain what was stopping him from lodging an FIR against Haryana Police.
“The workers of the farmers’ union have been guarding the body of Shubhkaran Singh at the mortuary of the Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. It establishes that the farmers do not trust the Aam Aadmi Party-led state government’s intentions at all,” Bajwa added.
“Cold-blooded murder”
