There is no proposal at present to open the Hussainiwala border with Pakistan in Ferozepur district, the government has informed Parliament.

In an answer in the Rajya Sabha to a question by Congress MP from Ferozepur Sher Singh Ghubaya, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said the border check-post at Hussainiwala in Ferozepur district was closed after the 1971 India-Pakistan war. “At present, there is no proposal under consideration to open it,” the MoS said.
