In two accidents caused by low visibility due to dense fog, a PRTC bus conductor died and 16 persons sustained injuries on the Sangrur-Barnala highway near Bahadurpur village on Friday.

In the first accident, a PRTC bus, which was going from Sangrur to Bathinda, rammed into a tractor-trailer as the driver could not spot the tractor that was moving ahead. The bus conductor was killed on the spot in the mishap.

The second accident occurred when an ambulance from Mastuana Sahib reached the site to take the injured to the Civil Hospital, Sangrur. Again due to low visibility, a truck rammed into the ambulance, causing injuries to two persons.

The deceased conductor was identified as Ramandeep Singh (32), a resident of Malout in Muktsar district. Dr Baljit Singh, SMO, Civil Hospital, Sangrur, said 15 injured persons were discharged after administering first aid.
