One dies, 3 hurt in road mishap

An accident on National Highway 62 claimed the life of a woman and left three others injured.

The deceased, Phoolan (45), wife of Ali Khan, was traveling with her family, which included her husband, Bismillah (45), son Mahfouz (15), and the driver, Sameer (27). Fortunately, two children, Abhishek and Princy, escaped the crash unharmed.

The accident occurred when Sameer, attempting to avoid hitting a stray animal near a hotel, lost control of the car, causing it to overturn. Phoolan, seated near the window, died instantly due to a broken neck.

The injured were transported to the Sriganganagar district hospital for treatment.

Police officials said the body of the deceased has been handed over to the family for last rites after the postmortem.
