One held for raping minor

The police here arrested Akashdeep Singh Mannu of Bannawala (Arniwala) in connection with a case registered against him under Section 376 of the IPC and 4, 6 of the Protection of Children from sexual Offences Act.
A 17-year-old girl had lodged a complaint alleging that Mannu, who was working as driver for JCB machine used to lay sewage pipes here, had been exploiting her sexually for about a year on the pretext of marrying her, but it now surfaced that he was already married.
The court allowed police to carry custodial interrogation for a day.
