Optical shop burgled
Abohar: Miscreants burgled an optical shop on Sunday night in Arorvansh Dharamshala here and stole machines and spectacles. Anish Narula, the shop owner, said that when he came to the shop, he found that the locks of the shutters, including the central lock, had been broken by anti-social elements. The machines, expensive frames and glasses were missing from the shop, added the shop owner. OC
Scholar Dhillon dead
Abohar: Noted scholar and writer Prof Gurdial Singh Dhillon died at Abohar on Sunday. Prof Dhillon was former head of Postgraduate Department of Punjabi in DAV College, Abohar. He served around for 35 years in the college. His research papers were carried by leading magazines. He was honoured by many literary and cultural organisations for his contribution to the field of teaching, literature and cultural activities. OC
