Office-bearers and activists of various social and philanthropic organisations pledged to work for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden, while acting as a bridge between the administration and the beneficiaries in the implementation of social welfare schemes launched by the Centre and state government. Oaths were taken during functions held at various places for distribution of ration, woollens, tricycles and wheelchairs.
Conveners of different units of Rotary Club, Lions Club, Social Welfare Organisation, and Mundey Ahmedgarh Dey claimed to have focus on working for uplifting of poor and downtrodden. “Though our units have already been working in seven focus areas of the organisation, we have planned to facilitate implementation of welfare schemes of the government by sharing responsibility of organising camps and allied events,” said Chief Advisor Rotary District Amjad Ali.
Tarsem Garg, patron Social Welfare Organisation Ahmedgarh said that efforts will be made to undertake events jointly with the help of other social organisations so that maximum number of beneficiaries can avail the services provided by the organisations.
Surinder Pal Sofat, Assistant Governor Elect said that a panel had been constituted to assess the needs of residents of various localities with intent to ensure optimum use of resources available.
