Pact to regulate trans-fatty acid

Chandigarh, June 14

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Punjab, and Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen the implementation of trans-fat regulation in the state.

Signing the MoU, Kumar Rahul, Commissioner, FDA, said: “Excessive use of trans fats is one of the leading risk factors of Covid-related mortalities in the state.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
