Rajasthan Police have arrested two youths near the Malkana railway crossing in Sriganganagar and recovered 1 kg 492 gm of heroin from their possession. The police said the consignment was dropped into Indian territory by Pakistani smugglers using a drone last night. The seized heroin is estimated to be worth around Rs 7.5 crore in the international market.

The heroin was packed in plastic bags, sealed with white tape and fitted with steel rings. The consignment was ordered by a major Punjab-based smuggler through WhatsApp calls with Pakistani handlers. The smuggler reportedly sent two youths to collect the consignment. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.

During preliminary questioning, they told police that they had arrived in Sriganganagar from Tarn Taran on Friday morning.
