The elections for the remaining posts of panches in 14 villages and sarpanch of a village in Gidderbaha Assembly segment would be held on December 15. The elections in these villages were not held after some candidates had approached the State Election Commission and the High Court challenging the election process in the recent past.
SDM, Gidderbaha, Jaspal Singh Brar, today said that the State Election Commission has issued a notification to conduct the elections for the vacant posts. “The notification says the elections will be conducted for the posts of panch in 20 villages and sarpanch of Daula village. However, the elections are to be held in 14 villages. Six villages which have to be excluded from the list are Lohara, Kothe Hazure Wale, Kothe Dhaban Wale, Kothe Kesar Singh Wale, Smagh and Madhir,” said Jaspal.
The elections will be held in Assa Buttar, Daddu Mohalla Mallan, Khirkianwala, Wara Kishanpura, Buttar Shrinh, Bharu, Daula, Kothe Himmatpura, Bhunder, Lundewala, Manian Wala, Sheikh, Khunan Khurd and Buttar Bakhua villages.
