Pannu creating false narrative: BJP’s Grewal
National farmer leader of the BJP, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal has called for strict action against Khalistani supporters allegedly backed by Pakistan’s ISI, including Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, Harpreet Singh alias Happy Passio, Harvinder Rinda and Gurdev Jassal.
In his statement, Grewal condemned Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, labelling him a “self-proclaimed leader” attempting to disrupt communal harmony in India. He expressed outrage over Pannu’s recent video in which he reportedly threatened to disrupt the upcoming Kumbh Mela, claiming it would be India’s “last Kumbh”.
Grewal criticised Pannu and his associates for their efforts to create divisions between Hindu and Sikh communities. “India’s Hindu and Sikh communities share a bond as strong as nail and flesh, which cannot be broken by malicious propaganda,” he said.
Grewal emphasised that Pannu’s attempts to disrupt peace and brotherhood in Punjab and across India will fail.
Recalling the era of militancy in Punjab, Grewal said, “Our nation has already endured enough suffering during those dark times. The fabricated statements and divisive tactics of individuals like Pannu will have no impact on our unity.”
He appealed to India’s youth to reject such narratives, stating that these elements aim to exploit social media to mislead young minds and create discord. Grewal also urged Amit Shah to take note of such activities.
