An official in a government school in Balluana constituency allegedly complained of bad touch and their parents came face to face with an official in the school.
When the parents became aware of the incident, they reached the school along with other villagers and created a ruckus. Police officials from Abohar and a team from the Fazilka Education Department reached the village and started investigating the matter.
Refuting the allegations, the head of the school said that a staff member had been reprimanded for some wrongdoing during school hours and had received a warning. Having developed a grudge, the teacher had now spread misinformation to instigate the villagers to protest, he alleged.
Keeping in view the situation, the officials said that statements of some students had been recorded and the matter would be probed. The protesters demanded that the police administration and Education Department officials thoroughly investigate and ensure safety of female students.
