Parents want action against school over pro-CAA drive
Submit memo to Barnala DC; threaten to intensify stir

Barnala, February 25
Perturbed over the Barnala administration’s inaction against a private school of Dhanaula for its pro-CAA drive on January 15, parents and members of various organisations today protested outside the DC office, seeking quick action against the school management.
“The school procured the signatures of children without the permission of their parents on a banner to support the CAA. It’s not acceptable,” said Mahinderpal Singh, a social worker.
Protesters alleged that on January 15 after the school got the banner signed, students informed their parents, who immediately approached the management. But after failing to get a proper answer, parents and various social organisations finally submitted a memorandum to the Barnala DC for action. “But there has been no action to date. We will launch indefinite agitation in coming days if the authorities fail to take legal action against the school management,” said a student’s father.
Barnala Tehsildar Harbans Singh said: “We will look into the matter and take an appropriate action.”
