Similarly, AAP exerted all its might for party nominee Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself held 13 rallies in favour of Dimpy. Besides, both AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Mann held a joint rally in Gidderbaha on Saturday. Further, Bhagwant Mann’s OSD Rajbir Singh Ghuman has been camping here for the past few days.

Further, Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Dr Baljit Kaur and Barinder Kumar Goyal, MP Malwinder Singh Kang and several MLAs canvassed for Dimpy. AAP leaders claim to have started development works worth Rs 100 crore before the enforcement of poll code. Dimpy’s nephew Abhay Dhillon said, “We don’t have any special plan for the last day of the campaigning.”

Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu held the reins of BJP candidate Manpreet Singh Badal’s election campaign and remained here for almost a week. Besides, several saffron party leaders, including its state in-charge and former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Avinash Rai Khanna and Ashwani Sharma, too, campaigned for Manpreet. BJP’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh, too, once visited the segment.

However, none from Delhi came here for campaigning. The state BJP chief Sunil Jakhar didn’t visited the segment once. Even Manpreet had skipped his campaign for a day and met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi for development works of the constituency. Former Union Minister of State Vijay Sampla would visit Gidderbaha on Monday.
