Patiala, January 20

The district will get 13 new Aam Aadmi Clinics, out of which seven will come up in border villages. After this, the total number of such clinics will reach 71 in the district.

The clinics will be thrown open for public on January 26, Republic Day. These will be established in areas around Nalas Kalan, Dakala, Kakrala Bhaika, Davigarh, Hirabagh and Ishwar Nagar.

District Family Welfare Officer Dr SJ Singh said the objective behind opening the clinics in remote areas is to provide primary health care facility at people’s doorsteps so that they do not have to commute to the cities for treatment. He said 80 types of medicine and 38 types of tests will be available in these clinics.
