Moga, July 2
Family members of a 43-year-old patient who died during the treatment at a private hospital today protested and alleged negligence on the part of the doctors.
The deceased, Balwinder Singh, a resident of Korewala village, reached Delhi Heart Care Hospital around 8.30 am after having difficulty in breathing.
The hospital authorities claimed that the patient’s sugar-level declined drastically due to which he collapsed.
Charanjit Singh, sarpanch of Korewala, said brother of the deceased had alleged that doctors administered an injection after which Balwinder died within a few minutes.
Sukhwinder Kaur, wife of the victim, said her husband worked as a labourer and complained of fever on Wednesday night. She said they took him to the hospital in the morning.
Dr Manav Bansal of Delhi Heart Care Hospital said the patient suffered from tuberculosis and was brought in a critical stage.
Moga DSP (City) Barjinder Singh Bhullar pacified the protesters and said they would ask the health authorities to conduct Covid-19 test of the deceased.
