The BSF, in a joint operation with the Special Task Force, arrested a cross-border drug peddler from a house at Dalla Mallian village in Ajnala subdivision here today.

The suspect was identified as Gurjit Singh of Khemkaran in Tarn Taran district.

The BSF seized Rs 5 lakh drug money, along with a Chinese .30 bore pistol, a magazine with three live rounds and a motorcycle from him. “This morning, a raid was conducted at a house in Dalla Mallian village leading to the arrest of a narco-smuggler,” said a BSF spokesman. He was allegedly involved in smuggling using drones in the border areas. He was handed over to cops.

The police said Gurjit had been under surveillance for nearly a month. He was staying at a relative’s house in Dalla Mallian.
