Sangrur, August 24

Members of the Mulazam and Pensioners’ Sanjha Front today burnt a bundle of “false promises” outside the residence of Cabinet Minister Aman Arora in Sunam. The protesters who gathered at Mata Modi Park said their main demands included payment of arrears from January 2016 and release of dearness allowance.

The protesters said despite fixing meetings multiple times with the Chief Minister, the latter never met them.

Jeet Singh Banga, patron, Pensioners’ Welfare Association, said the CM Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government had failed to accept their long-pending demands. He said they would march towards the Vidhan Sabha in Chandigarh on September 3 to remind AAP leaders about the promises they made to them during the Assembly poll.
