Pet dog electrocuted, police book neighbour in Sukhchain village

In the wildlife‑sanctuary area of Sukhchain village, a man’s pet dog died after his neighbour electrocuted an iron wire installed for home security. The Wahabwala police have registered a case against the victim’s neighbour and launched an investigation.

Fortunately, no one in the family touched the live wire, which could have cost a life. In a statement to the police, Satpal said that Ram Chand’s house is adjacent to his. About a year ago, their common wall behind the house collapsed. He attempted to repair it several times, but his neighbour Ram Chand allegedly stopped the work and prevented him from doing so. This allowed stray animals and dogs to enter the house, making his family feel insecure at night. Fearing trouble, he tied an iron‑wire mesh to the wall to protect his home. Ram Chand allegedly electrified the wire.

On November 8, around 6 am, his pet dog wandered through the courtyard, came into contact with the live wire, and was electrocuted. Based on Satpal’s statement, police have registered a case against Ram Chand under Sections 304‑A (causing death by negligence) and 429 (mischief by killing an animal) of the IPC. Investigation is underway.
