Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday morning dialled former Punjab chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal patron Parkash Singh Badal to enquire about his health.

PMO sources said, “PM Modi spoke to Parkash Singh Badal and enquired about his health.”

Badal, 94, had tested Covid positive on Wednesday and was admitted to Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
