Police leverage short film, social media for traffic safety
In an effort to curb the alarming rise in accidents on highways around Abohar and Fazilka district, particularly those caused by traffic rule violations, the police have released a Punjabi short film titled Vekh Lai Phir.
The film, produced by Natrangi production, is part of a broader initiative led by Senior Superintendent of Police Varinder Singh Brar to increase awareness of traffic safety.
There have been increasing concerns over minors driving vehicles despite strict police directives to stop this illegal activity.
To address this, the police are planning awareness seminars when schools reopen after the winter break.
The short film was unveiled today by Pramila Sidhu, in-charge of police station-2, Abohar, who praised the efforts of the film’s production team.
The film, aimed at educating the public about the dangers of neglecting traffic rules, features the traffic in-charge and his colleagues in acting roles. Directed by Manish Madaan, the film stars Atul Khungar, Neeraj Kalra, Ravi Kumar, Anshuman Gagneja, Manpreet Kaur, Ishu Sethi, and Jahnvi Arora, with Gaurav Paruthi as the cameraman.
The film is available on YouTube, Facebook, and other social media platforms, emphasizing that ignoring traffic laws can lead to dangerous
consequences.
