The Station House Officer (SHO) of the Kotfatta police station here was shifted to the Police Lines on Tuesday, a day after a man alleged that the cop “threatened” him over a poster put up at Bhai Bakhtaur village in protest against drug peddling.

The issue was highlighted by Lakhvir Singh through a video that surfaced on social media on Monday.

Lakhvir posted another video in the night, alleging that SHO Munish came to his residence and threatened him for pasting the poster. Lakhvir, seen in tears in the video, was accompanied by his four-year-old daughter.

The protest was sparked by the brutal assault on ex-serviceman Ranveer Singh, a member of the village's anti-drug committee, by drug peddlers.

Congress leader Pargat Singh visited the hospital where Ranveer Singh is undergoing treatment.
