In a continued effort to combat the growing menace of drug abuse, the Malerkotla Police, led by SSP Gagan Ajit Singh, organised a series of sports events across the Malerkotla, Amargarh, and Ahmedgarh subdivisions.

The subdivision-level events featured competitions in football, kabaddi, and wrestling, and were held at the Mini Football Stadium in Malerkotla, Amargarh Stadium, and the Akhara in Kanganwal.

SSP Singh praised the cooperation of local residents in the campaign against drug abuse and other social issues. He emphasised the growing support from social and sports organisations joining forces with the police to encourage youths to adopt sportsmanship and avoid drugs.

“By collaborating with organisers of sports fairs and tournaments, we have launched a state-level campaign, guided by our DGP Gaurav Yadav, to engage youths in sports of their choice and keep them away from the harmful influence of drug peddlers,” said SSP Singh.
