Police personnel asked to expedite pending cases

Malerkotla SSP Gagan Ajit Singh has asked cops to expedite pending cases within a stipulated time frame.

He directed senior officers to closely monitor the progress of all cases falling under their jurisdiction in Malerkotla, Amargarh and Ahmedgarh.

The SSP Gagan Ajit Singh said extensive and intensive exercise was conducted to review progress of cases registered at several police stations of the district and concerned personnel had been advised to expedite the process for final disposal.

“Having reviewed almost all pending cases by organising camps at subdivision level, we have advised all investigating officers to do their best for expediting the process so that justice is not delayed,” said the SSP, adding that cops had been sensitised to comprehend the relevance of ‘justice delayed is justice denied’ principle.

The SSP stressed on the need of maintaining a balance between various aspects of modern policing which required all cops to stay committed to fulfillment of their duty ‘anytime everywhere’, besides looking after their families.

The SSP said they had been supporting all campaigns launched to eradicate social evils, including drug abuse, eve- teasing and social media abuse. Those showing any kind of negligence had been warned of strict action, said the SSP.
