Punjab: Poll in mind, BJP leaders to visit central schemes’ beneficiaries

To get the ball rolling for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has asked its leaders to reach out to every single beneficiary of Central schemes.

  • A meeting of the Punjab BJP regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha election preparations was chaired by party state in-charge Vijay Rupani
  • Apart from the state president, national secretary, state general secretaries, the meeting was attended by all 13 Lok Sabha seat in-charges and IT in-charges
  • To take the Central schemes to people’s doorsteps, the leadership provided a list comprising names & addresses of beneficiaries to district leaders

According to sources, an important meeting of the Punjab BJP regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha election preparations was chaired by party state in-charge Vijay Rupani. Apart from the state president, national secretary, state general secretaries, the meeting was attended by all 13 Lok Sabha seat in-charges. To take the Central schemes to people’s doorsteps, the party leadership provided a list comprising names and addresses of beneficiaries to the district leaders today.

They were asked to approach and meet every single beneficiary and take his/her feedback. The party will an open online platform on its SARAL App between February 25 and March 15, where the leaders will upload the videos and photos of their visit and interaction with them. The party has especially started a new campaign called the Lok Sabha Beneficiary Contact Programme.

A senior leader, who was part of the meetings, said the Centre had pumped in a huge amount in over 20 schemes. These schemes were focused on the upliftment of underprivileged sections of society.

Apart from that, a meeting of in-charges of various state cells also took place to chalk out the plan. The Centre has been running the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which was aimed at disseminating information and ensuring benefits of the government schemes reach the people.
