Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO held a meeting with the PSEB Joint Forum and Bijli Mulazam Ekta Manch on Wednesday to discuss problems that affected employees of the power department.
During the meeting, the minister assured the union representatives that he would appeal to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann as well as Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema for enhanced compensation for the families of PSPCL employees who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He also discussed various initiatives to reduce fatal accidents and ensure a safer working environment for employees.
The minister discussed the demands raised by employee unions regarding departmental promotions, reorganisation of posts, and the need for renovation of office buildings with Additional Chief Secretary (Power) Tejveer Singh, PSPCL Managing Director Baldev Singh Saran, Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sursingh, and Director Commercial Er RS Saini. The officials told the minister that the all the departmental promotions were being awarded on time.
