Patiala MP Preneet Kaur today condemned the recent attack on BJP MLA Arun Narang in Malout town.

She had come to Abulkhurana village in Malout subdivision today to express grief with the family of former minister Gurnam Singh Abulkhurana, who passed away a few days ago.

While interacting with mediapersons, she said, “Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has already condemned the attack and I, too, condemn it. The CM has strictly told senior police officers to maintain law and order. Such incidents happen when some miscreants try to disturb the peaceful atmosphere. I hope no such incident will happen in future.”

About the problems of arhtiyas over the issue of direct bank transfer (DBT) to farmers against payment for grain procurement in the state, Preneet Kaur said, “The CM has written to the Centre in this regard and also spoken to the Prime Minister and Food Minister, asking them that the existing system should prevail in the state. Let us see what happens.”
