The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) in Faridkot on Tuesday ordered the resumption of proceedings in the 2015 Kotkapura police firing case. The case, which had been abated for over a year, is now set for the next hearing on February 3.

The proceedings were stalled after former SSP Charanjit Sharma, one of the accused, moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking the transfer of the trial from Faridkot to Chandigarh, citing security concerns. The HC had earlier transferred the related Behbal Kalan police firing case of 2015 to Chandigarh.
