Process to pick teachers for training in Finland begins
The Department of School Education has initiated the process to select primary and elementary teachers for a training programme at the University of Turku in Finland.
School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains informed that the second batch of 72 primary and elementary teachers would be sent to Finland for training.
Under the three-week programme, teachers will be imparted training in the state for one week followed by two months in Finland. Teachers interested in the training can apply online. There should be no pending chargesheet, inquiry or criminal cases against the candidates.
He said candidates must be 43 years old or younger, while the age limit for head teachers, central head teachers and block primary education officers should not exceed 48 years as of January 31, 2025.
In addition, candidates must provide 20 recommendations or references that highlight their good work, including 10 each from parents of current and former students.
The District Education Officers (Elementary Education) will begin the verification process on February 3.
Candidates meeting the preliminary conditions would advance to the second round, where selections would be based on educational qualifications, experience, ACRs, performance in the interview-cum-presentation and contributions in quality education, Bains said.
