Prosecute Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim: Akali Dal to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Parambans Singh Romana today asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to prosecute Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim under Section 295-A.
The Akali Dal also sought arrest of Honeypreet for ordering the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and sacrilege accused Pradeep Kler in two pending cases registered against him.
Romana said, “Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has followed in the footsteps of the previous government as an application by the SIT to prosecute Gurmeet Ram Rahim under Section 295-A for hurting religious sentiments is pending since September 2021.”
He asked why the sanction to prosecute the dera head was not given when the same was given for all other accused. Romana quoted documents to prove that three FIRs had been registered against Kler with regard to the theft of Guru Granth Sahib, pasting of posters and tearing “Angs” of Guru Granth Sahib.
He said Kler had been arrested in only theft case and all three FIRs were registered against him at the Bajakhana police station.
