Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh Boparai has called upon senior functionaries in the administration and elected representatives of rural and urban local bodies to launch a campaign to ensure that rights of over 94 crore registered beneficiaries of the national employment Act, 2005, and the National Food Security Act, 2013, are protected as a token of gratitude towards former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Boparai, who was a member of the task force constituted under the chairmanship of the then Prime Minister for implementation of MNREGA in 2005 and Chairman and Managing Director of Food Corporation of India when NFSA was implemented in 2013, announced that a coordinated campaign would be launched in all Assembly segments of his Lok Sabha constituency for making benefits of both Acts reach genuine beneficiaries.

“Being associated with MNREGA and various schemes under NFSA, I feel that looking after interests of poor and downtrodden beneficiaries of both dream missions of Dr Manmohan Singh will be real tribute to his contributions and role as the founder of new strategic economic reforms and development,” the MP said adding he could never forget guidance and motivation received from Dr Singh.
