Members of the Berozgar Sanjha Morcha today tried to gherao the residence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over non-acceptance of their demands.
As cops stopped the protesters from moving ahead, a minor scuffle broke out among them.
Raising slogans against the state government over non-fulfillment of their demands, the protesters demanded advertisements for vacant posts of Punjabi, Hindi, English, Social Studies and other subjects, scrapping of 55 per cent condition in graduation and exemption in age limit for the posts of multi-purpose health workers.
Sukhwinder Singh Dhilwan of the Berozgar Sanjha Morcha, said, the AAP government had forgotten all promises it made with unemployed youths ahead of the 2022 Vidhan Sabha election.
He said unemployed youths had been waiting for recruitment in the education and health departments for a long.
Later, the administration got the protesters’ meeting fixed with Secretary of the Education Department in Chandigarh on February 21.
