Computer teachers today burnt brooms “Lohri of false promises” outside the residence of AAP state president and Cabinet minister Aman Arora in Sunam.
The teachers have been observing relay fast since September 1, 2024, outside the Sangrur District Administrative Complex to compel the state government to fulfil their demands.
Nardeep Sharma of the Computer Adhyapak Union said, “Despite holding meetings several times with the ministers and MLAs, we just got false promises.”
Their demands include shifting of computer teachers from the Punjab Information and Communication Technology Education Society to the Education Department, implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission and revision of dearness allowance (DA) from 2021.
