Protesting Lok Insaaf Party leaders booked

The police on Wednesday booked Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) leaders Simarjit Singh Bains, MLA, Atam Nagar, Ludhiana; Balwinder Singh Bains, MLA, Ludhiana South; Jarnail Nangal, Balbir Thakur, Shashi Bangar, Sukhdev Chaukria and Sukhwinder Singh Shergill under Section 188 of the IPC and the Disaster Management Act.

SSP, Kapurthala, Satinder Singh said the party leaders organised a cycle rally-cum-demonstration here in violation of the orders of the District Magistrate.

Meanwhile, the police on Wednesday registered three cases for violation of social distancing norms in the town. The violations were detected with the help of drone cameras. The accused have been booked under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
