State-run Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) has been ranked second most fuel efficient organisation in the country by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA).
PRTC Chairman KK Sharma attended an online award ceremony — SAKSHAM-2021 — held by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in New Delhi.
Sharma said the PCRA had been monitoring fuel consumption by buses of all state transport agencies. The PRTC received the first runner-up award for consuming lesser fuel as compared to state transport buses of other states and got Rs 2 lakh in prize money.
Sharma said the national-level recognition would motivate employees and provide an impetus to the organisation to go ahead with its ongoing improvement strategy.
The award for the best depot from Punjab also went to PRTC’s Faridkot depot. The award carried a cash prize of Rs 50,000, he added.
