Puneet tops PSEB Class VIII exam with a perfect score

Puneet Verma of Sri Harkrishan Public School, Model Town, Hoshiarpur, secured 600 marks out of 600 to claim the top position in the PSEB Class VIII annual examination, the results of which were declared here on Friday.

Navjot Kaur of Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School of Kot Santhian, Faridkot, also secured full marks, but was ranked second due to an age difference. Navjot Kaur of Guru Nanak Public Senior Secondary School, Channan Ke, Amritsar, ranked third by securing 599/600 marks (99.83 per cent).

Twenty-four students out of total 319 on the merit list are from Guru Nanak Public Senior Secondary School Channan Ke, Amritsar.

In all, 2,90,471 students from 10,471 schools across the state appeared for the annual examination (2024-2025) held in February. Of them, 2,82,627 students cleared the exam, with a pass percentage of 97.30. The complete result has been uploaded on the PSEB website. The supplementary examination for Class VIII will be conducted in June.

Punjab School Education Board Chairperson Dr Amarpal Singh Toor said, “Efforts are being made to improve the standard of education besides ensuring holistic development of students.”
