The Punjab Government on Tuesday said it has provided government jobs to 597 relatives of the farmers, who had died during the agitation against the now-withdrawn three contentious farm laws of the Centre. Thousands of the farmers from across the country had assembled on the Delhi borders in 2020-21 against the laws.
This gesture demonstrates the state government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the farming community and their families, said Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Punjab. He also handed over appointment letters to three persons from families of deceased farmers. They were appointed in the statistics wing of the Agriculture Department.
