Punjab's all-party meet on 'giving water' to Haryana ends; central meeting over impasse on in Delhi

The Punjab government organised an all-party meeting here on Friday to discuss the issue of Haryana being given the additional water.

The meeting at Punjab Bhawan was chaired by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

From the Akali Dal, Balwinder Singh Bhunder and Daljit Cheema attended the meeting, while the Congress deputed Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Rana KP for the purpose.

BJP president Sunil Jakhar and senior party leader Manoranjan Kalia were also present.

The BSP was represented by Avtar Singh Karunpuri and party MLA Nacchattar Pal.

The government has also called a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on Monday to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan has called a meeting of the chief secretaries/officers of partner states of the Bhakra Beas Management Board in Delhi on Friday, after Punjab refused to release 8,500 cusecs of water to Haryana.
