Punjab Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan on Tuesday congratulated Kamalpreet Kaur for sealing a place in Tokyo Olympics and setting a new national discus throw record.

In a tweet, Mahajan said: “Congrats to our #Muktsar girl #Kamalpreet Kaur for sealing her place in Tokyo #Olympics in style, setting a new national #discus throw record by clocking 65.6 m in the process. Wishing her all the very best for her #medal journey we all are waiting for. We are proud of you.”

Kaur from Kabarwala village on the Malout-Abohar national highway has made every Punjabi proud with her success of breaking the nine-year-old national record in the discus throw and qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics.
