Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann joins Cabinet meeting from hospital bed; focuses on mining policy reform
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday attended Cabinet meeting virtually from his hospital room, days after being admitted on September 5.
The Cabinet convened to discuss key amendments to the state’s mining policy. The proposed changes aim to assist farmers whose fields were flooded during recent monsoon rains.
Under the revised policy, these farmers would be allowed to extract and sell sand that has been deposited on their land due to the floods.
This move is seen as both a relief measure and a way to economically empower affected farmers by converting flood deposits into a resource.
