Punjab Govt depts to pay fee for building plan nod
The Punjab Local Government Department has asked all 116 urban local bodies (ULBs) to ensure that the government departments undertaking construction of their buildings pay the layout plan fee and “change of land use” charges to the civic body concerned.
“The instructions were already there, but these were not being enforced. Now, we have directed the ULBs to take undertakings from the departments concerned that they would pay the requisite fee,” said a senior department official
On Friday, the Director, Local Government, had, in an inter-departmental communication, pointed out that the ULBs were objecting to the building/layout plans approved by the state architect department. While being asked to allow the construction as per the plans approved by the architect department, the ULBs were asked to ensure that the plans were in accordance with the Local Government Building Bylaws-2018 and other amendments.
The ULBs have also been asked to obtain undertakings from the respective departments that the requisite building plan approval fee has been paid.
