English liquor and beer worth Rs 1 crore being smuggled from Punjab to Gujarat via Rajasthan have been seized.
A truck carrying the illegal consignment was going on Pallu Sardarshahar road through Hanumangarh district when a joint team, led by District Special Team in-charge Jaiprakash Jhajharia and Sardarshahar police station in-charge Madan Lal Bishnoi, stopped it for checking.

On searching, 908 cartons of English liquor containing 10,896 bottles were found in the truck. Apart from this, 360 cartons of beer containing 8,640 cans were found.
Truck driver Ismail Khan and helper Ayub Khan, residents of Shergarh Jodhpur district, were arrested. The probe indicated that liquor and beer were being illegally transported from Punjab to Gujarat.
