The written exam conducted for the recruitment of 787 head constables in Punjab Police Investigation cadre has been scrapped due to alleged malpractice/cheating in exam. The exam was held in September 2021.

Fresh dates for the written exam will be notified. According to officials, 75,544 applicants had applied for 787 vacancies.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
